Newcomers - immigrants in their first years of U.S. schooling - are a fast growing population in schools across the country. Despite increasing representation in our school communities, many teachers and administrators struggle with effectively supporting our newest language learners.
Newcomer students bring rich life experiences, cultural knowledge, and multilingual skills into the classroom—known as "funds of knowledge." This tool helps educators identify and build on those strengths to create more inclusive, engaging, and empowering learning environments.
